Interesting Things About My Book

hey guys so I'm still on my wonderful book,"The Lovely Bones", and I really like it. I think that Alice Sebold (author) did a really good job writing the book to give it voice and personality. I am on the part where a neighbor of the killer's dog finds Susie's arm in the cornfield she was murdered in. The best thing about my book is that the diction isn't too formal because it's put in perspective of a teenage girl and us teens don't use that much proper language. I think it's the best thing about it because i mean who wants to read a book with words you don't even know in it? Like my grandparents always say, "If the ingredients list has three or more words that you don't know in it, it's bad for you". I know that ingredients has really nothing to do with a book but it kind of relates.

The worst thing about my book is that Susie and the reader already knows who killed her but none of the neighbors or teachers or even family members know who did and it's literally killing me! Ugh the anticipation is just so big I can't stand it. It's like waiting for someone to open a present that you already know what it is. I mean, the fact that it has that element in the book makes it even better. I'm not saying that the book is just terrible because it has that element in it. Just on a personal note, it bugs me. Anyway, I will keep you updated :) BTW, a thanks to Mrs. Palmer for letting me borrow this book, I surely appreciate it ! Bye now! (:

This video is just a little preview of the book before you actually read it. It just talks about it briefly so enjoy!

Lovely Bones Characterization

Hola guys! I am still on the same book ,The Lovely Bones, and I think I love it! I mean it's really well written and has lots of good details and and well developed characters. #greatestbookever. The main character's name is Susie Salmon and she's dead. Nice way to start a book right?! Ha. Anyway, I don't remember what I said about her last week but she looks down on earth and watches the people around her and pretty much watches people try and catch her killer. (Again, sorry if I repeated any info!) This week is going to be a little bit different and I took this idea from our "Blogger Prompts" we got in class like way back in totes first tri. The prompt is: "Describe a conversation that you would have with a character from your book. What would this conversation sound like?" So if I would to have a conversation with Susie, this is a few questions I would ask her:

  • How's heaven?

  • Do you think they will find out who killed you?

  • Do you ever wish you could just talk to people and tell them who did it? Just to get the rumors straight?

  • If you were alive, and rumors were going around about someone you liked, would you say something?

I think that if I did have the chance to talk to Susie, I would have a lot to ask her! Wouldn't you? I think it would be so cool to be able to take a character out of the book and talk to them and see what they would do.

Challenge of The Day: If you were to have a conversation with a character out of a book, who would it be? What would you say to them/ ask them? Have fun! Au revior! (: #COTD

The Lovely Bones

Hey everyone! So I'm just starting a new book called "The Lovely Bones" as you can probably tell by the title. It's a really good book so far and I really like it. I chose this book to read because I've heard of a lot of people reading it and I know it's a movie but I've never seen it. I am NOT going to watch the movie. It's against everything I stand for. I have to finish the book before I watch the movie. So pretty much Suzie tells the story from heaven. She's dead and she watches as the cops try and catch her killer. I don't really know what's going to happen but i hope i find out soon! So I  have a few questions:

  • Are they ever going to catch her killer?
  • Will her sister be able to overcome her sadness?
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery genres or a kind of suspenseful book. Even though I'm only on page 45, i still believe that anyone would like it! About 200 more pages left to go until I can find the movie on Netflix andwatch it! Well, that's all i got for this week! Next week I will definitey have more dets! Caio! :)
