Krista Ramsey's Speech
Hey guys! So if you're in Mrs.Palmer's class, you know that Krista Ramsey, the columnist, came to the school and talked to a lot of 9th graders about what she does and shared some of the stories she wrote about. I think that one of the stories that I thought was really interesting was one where all of the victims and the witnesses and the accused were all 14. I was interested in it because I can relate to it because that would've been my peers and they were my age. I never really thought people my age were capable of murder like that. When she talked about it, I was so surprised and being the same age, that kind of stuff isn't on my mind.
A lot of stuff that she said, spoke to me. One of the quotes that I really liked was "We spend a lot of valuable time on awful people" I like this quote because it's the truth! We spend our time on people who aren't worth it. People who treat us like we're nothing are the ones we value the most and the ones we want to be with and around. It doesn't make sense but it's the total truth. Another quote that really kind of got my attention was "You have to develop your voice" I think that this quote is talking to everyone that has ever been shushed or put out. Find your voice! I don't mean to be a cliché machine and sit here lecturing you on life lessons and all but I speak the truth. That's all I've got today. Peace.✌

Designer Babies
WOAAH! Did you know that soon you'll be able to make your own babies? Scientists are descovering new technology so you can tell them what kind of baby you'd like to have. I think that is sooo cool! But I mean at the same time, I dont think that would be fair to some of the parents that wouldnt be able to afford it, causing some jealousy and chaos. So what they are doing is toying with the DNA and adding personality traits into it. I have a few questions.
- What would happen to the society if this was actually made possible?
- Do you think that making their own babies and when the kids dont come out like they want them to will start something bad?

New Moon Dets!
Helloo. These are the best things about my book and what i like about it and the characterization, etc. Today is about my characters in New Moon. I think that the characters were well developed and are full, dynamic characters. Each character (or most of them) go through a change in the book and are changed for the better. For example: In chapter 1, Jasper tries to "eat" Bella when he smells her finger bleeding. He races after her and then is caught by Emmett and Edward. Currently, Jasper apologized to her and they are on good terms.
Most of the characters do not use strong or formal diction, but there is an exception; Carlisle. In the book He mostly speaks in a formal tone and with lots of jargon.
Stephanie Meyer writes in language that i can understand and it's easy to read. I really like the book and I believe that she mostly writes in 2nd person point of view. Bella is the main character and it's written in her P.O.V. My favorite character is Rosalie. I like her attitude and her sassyness. I think I could relate to her. She comes off as fierce but she does it for the good of everyone around her and her family. That's really all I can say about this book. I love the Twilight Saga movies but the books are a definite better choice!
