Hey guy! It's blog time. So I got a new book called Speak. Maybe you've heard of it, I know a lot of my friends have. I just started the book a few days ago and I really like it! It's about a girl named Melinda who over the summer crashed a party when she was still an eight grader. Because of that, her friends have ditched her and nobody will talk to her accept the new student at Merryweather. The setting of the book is Merryweather High School, and is set in modern time and is written in a weird way. The way the author writes it, its like a newspaper article and has a lot of subheadings. For example, there's no chapters instead when Melinda encounters another class or a situation, there's a heading.
I noticed that the vocabulary in the book is mostly common language with not much good diction. Melinda I would say is a round character so far, she's well developed and has a lot of description to who she is. Along with what's going on right now, I have a few predictions of what's going to happen later on in the book: I think that Melinda will finally say something about what happened over the summer and tell the truth about what really happened and her friends will talk to her again. I also think that she'll meet someone that she falls in love with and she will open up to them. I would recommend this book to anyone. I'm about a fourth of the way through and it's really interesting. I can't put it down! Literally! Well, that's all I have for now. Talk to you soon! Byieee
